We have been active in Nigeria for more than 60 years in oil and gas exploration and production, natural gas liquefaction and the marketing of petroleum products and related services.
We are also implementing a growing number of community outreach initiatives, with a focus on health, access to water and education.

Our businesses in Nigeria

Our interests in Nigeria comprise 33 oil mining leases (OMLs), five of which we operate and one of which is an oil prospecting lease (OPL).

We operate the following OMLs:
- Onshore OML 58 (40%), which includes the Obagi field, the Ibewa gas field and the Obite gas processing plant.
- Offshore OML 99 (40%), which includes the Amenam-Kpono field, and the Ikike field under development.
- Offshore OML 100 (40%), which includes the Odudu, Afia, Ime and Edikan fields, as well as the floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel Unity, which receives all oil produced from conventional offshore sites.
- Offshore OML 102 (40%), which includes the Ofon field.
- Offshore OML 130 (24%), which contains the Akpo and Egina fields.

We notably have interests in the following:
- The Ekanga field (40%), which is part of OML 102.
- OML 118 (12.5%), which is located in deep offshore territory and includes the Bonga field.
- OML 135 (12.5%).
- OML 138 (20%), which covers the Usan field.
- OML 139 (18%).
- OPL 223 (18%), which covers the Owowo field.

We also own a 10% interest in the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) joint venture.

In the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG), we have a 15% stake in Nigeria LNG, which operates one of the biggest natural gas liquefaction plants in the world, located on Bonny Island on the southern tip of Nigeria.

We market solar panels in Nigeria through our affiliate SunPower (55.66%).

We market petrochemicals in the country, some of which are sourced from our South Korean joint venture. Polymers are sold through traders.

We purchase liquefied natural gas (LNG) under long-term supply agreements, mainly for Asia.

We have a network of close to 580 service stations in Nigeria, where we retail our fuel and offer related services.

We also market:
- Lubricants.
- Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
- Asphalt.
- Jet fuel.

In addition, our local affiliate owns two lubricant blending plants, three petroleum product depots and an asphalt depot. We also hold interests in five jet fuel depots.

Lastly, we market distributed solar solutions for low-income communities through our retail network and local resellers.

We sell Nigerian crude oil. We also buy and sell petroleum products in the country.
