Total et Peugeot dévoilent la 208 HYbrid FE au salon de Francfort

Total and Peugeot are unveiling their technology demonstrator, the Peugeot 208 HYbrid FE, at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show*. The concept car combines low carbon dioxide emissions (49 grams per kilometer, or the equivalent of fuel consumption of 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers) with sporty performance (acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just eight seconds).

The purpose of the demonstrator is to test innovative solutions to improve fuel efficiency that could later be transferred to mass-produced vehicles.

To meet the dual “FE" challenge of building a Fun & Efficient model that also delivers excellent Fuel Economy, Total and Peugeot focused on two main areas:
  • Reduced engine and component friction and optimized combustion with the help of Total Lubricants and Total Additives and Special Fluids.
  • Weight-saving with the assistance of Total Petrochemicals, CCP Composites and Hutchinson, using lighter plastics, bio-sourced resins and composite leaf springs.
