November 25, 2010: Total and PSA Peugeot Citroën renewed their partnership in the lubricant and fuels business, on November 17. The cooperation that started in 1968 has been renewed for five years and extended to new countries. Under this agreement, research teams from both groups will join forces to design oils and fuels that are specifically adapted to PSA engines and reduce even more their fuel consumption and environmental footprint.

These state-of the-art products were fully tried and tested in rally championships, with Sébastien Loeb winning seven prizes in a row in his Citroën C4, and in endurance racing with the 908 Peugeot running the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They are then adapted for consumers: the agreement provides that cars manufactured by PSA are filled with Total-produced oils and that Peugeot and Citroën recommend Total in their networks that cover nearly 50 countries.

The Total-PSA partnership is a powerful driver for development, in particular in emerging markets where the car manufacturer is very active such as China where PSA intends to double its market share in the next decade.
