We are active in India through our wholly owned affiliate Saft, which specializes in the design, production and marketing of high-tech batteries for industry.

We also generate low-carbon electricity from solar energy through our affiliate Total Eren, in which we hold a 33.86% indirect interest. Total Eren operates four solar farms in the country.

Lastly, we operate through our affiliate SunPower (55.66%), which markets solar panels in India.

In India, we market polyolefins, paraxylene, polymers and petrochemicals sourced from our Qatari and South Korean joint ventures.

In specialty chemicals, we are active in the country through our wholly owned affiliate Hutchinson, the leader in elastomers processing specialized in sealing, fluids management, anti-vibration systems, and materials and structures (acoustic and thermal insulation). Hutchinson has a production facility in Chennai.

As part of our 50/50 joint venture with India’s Adani Group, we develop multi-energy offers covering liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel retail.

In India, we market:
- Automotive lubricants produced in our plant near Mumbai.
- Industrial lubricants produced locally from base oil, some of which are sourced from our refineries in Europe.
- Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
- Special fluids.
- Value-added asphalt.

We also have a 50% interest in South Asia LPG Company Pvt. Ltd. (SALPG), which operates an underground liquefied petroleum gas storage facility located in Visakhapatnam, on the country’s east coast in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

We sell crude oil, mainly to Indian state-owned companies. We also buy petroleum products.
