We are active in Norway in almost all our business sectors, particularly in the area of exploration and production. We are also the country’s No. 2 oil company.
In addition, together with our partners, we are developing a CO2 storage project targeting a capacity of around 1.5 million metric tons per year in its first phase. It has the potential to be the first storage site in the world to receive CO2 from industrial sources in several countries.

We hold interests in 66 production licenses on the Norwegian continental shelf, including 14 as operator. The licenses are divided among four major hubs:
- The Greater Ekofisk area in the Southern North Sea, most of which is not operated. Four fields are in production; Ekofisk (39.90%) and Eldfisk (39.90%) are the largest of them.
- The Oseberg area, in the Central and Northern North Sea, which includes the following fields: Oseberg (14.70%), Troll (3.69%), and Kvitebjørn (5.00%). A number of satellite fields are tied back to the hubs, such as Atla (40.00%, operator), and Skirne (40.00%, operator).
- The Norwegian Sea (Haltenbanken area), which has several fields in production, including Tyrihans (23.15%), Kristin (6.00%), Åsgard (7.68%) and Mikkel (7.65%).
- The Barents Sea, where we have an 18.40% interest in the Snøhvit field. Gas from Snøhvit is transported via a 160 kilometer-pipeline to the liquefaction plant (18.40%) in Melkøya, near Hammerfest, then exported by LNG carrier.
- On the continental shelf, we own an 8.44% interest in the Johan Sverdrup field, one of the area's largest oil fields.

In addition, we hold a 45.22% interest in the Teeside terminal in the Ekofisk area.

We market petrochemicals in the country.

We have an 18.40% interest in the Snøhvit liquefaction plant, which has an annual capacity of 4.2 million metric tons. We source liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the plant under a long-term purchase agreement.
