Our affiliate SunPower (55.66%) has a 20% interest in the PV Salvador solar power plant, built in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile.
PV Salvador is one of the world’s largest solar power plants to operate using the “merchant” model, meaning that the power generated is sold on the spot market, or over the counter, for a price that fluctuates based on electricity prices in Chile.
It has a capacity of 70 megawatts-peak and supplies the equivalent of around 70,000 Chilean homes with power.
Through SunPower, we also market solar panels in the country.

As part of our petrochemicals business, our former affiliate, which was sold to the management team in 2005, continues to use third-party agents to market our polymers (polyethylene, polystyrene and styrene monomer).

We sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to EECL, Engie’s Chilean affiliate operating in the generation, transportation and distribution of electricity and gas, as part of two long-term sales contracts for the delivery of 0.5 million metric tons per year to the Mejillones terminal, expiring in 2026 and 2032, respectively.

- Special fluids.
