Renewable energies

In Qatar, we are a partner in the Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, an 800 megawatts-peak (MWp) solar power plant, alongside Siraj Energy and Marubeni. Connected to the national grid, Al Kharsaah can supply 10% of Qatar’s peak power consumption, enabling the country to reduce its CO2 emissions by 26 million tons during its lifetime.

Exploration & Production

We are a participant and the operator of the Al Khalij offshore oilfield, which was discovered in 1991, and we hold a significant interest in the concession covering the major Al Shaheen offshore oilfield operated by North Oil Company.

We are also one of the founding partners of QatarEnergy LNG (formerly Qatargas) and Dolphin Energy, and hold a 16.7% and 24.5% interest in QatarEnergy LNG N(2) and Dolphin Energy respectively.

In 2022, we became QatarEnergy’s first partner in the giant North Field East (32 million tons per annum or Mtpa) and North Field South (16 Mtpa) LNG projects, with a 6.25% and 9.375% participating interest respectively, which will considerably boost Qatar’s LNG production and export capabilities in the coming years.

The TotalEnergies Research Center Qatar (TRC-Q) in the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) leads cutting-edge and innovative research projects aimed at developing home-grown solutions to address its local operational challenges. TRC-Q collaborates with academia and industry, achieving breakthroughs in such varied fields as marine biodiversity, environmental protection, solar energy, energy management, biofuels, and recycling.

Refining & Chemicals

We are active in four downstream joint ventures: QAPCO, Qatofin, RLOC and Laffan Refineries. We joined Qatar in its first chemicals joint venture in 1974 and now have a 20% share in Qatar Petrochemicals Company (QAPCO). We have taken further steps to increase the valorization of the North Field products through Qatofin’s exceptional petrochemical assets.
