on the outskirts of Amsterdam, the new town of Almere
provides fertile ground for experimental architecture.
It was started from scratch with the aim of building
a futuristic town on a polder. Planners and architects,
ignoring constraints, have given free rein to their
imagination and made Almere a model of a new community
