Jacques de Boisséson, 47, has been appointed Senior Vice President International Relations at TotalFinaElf, effective April 2.

Mr. de Boisséson, a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) business school, joined Total in 1982 as an economist. He has held a variety of exploration and production positions within the Africa and North Sea departments. From 1991 to 1999, he headed Total subsidiaries, first in Colombia and then in Qatar.

Mr. de Boisséson was in charge of Group development projects in Mexico and Venezuela before being appointed Senior Vice President International Relations, in which position he will be responsible for contacts with international institutions and organizations, as well as the diplomatic community.
