Press Seminar: Future of Energy and Environment
On June 2, 2008, Total held a press seminar on the future of energy and the environment at its Paris-la Défense headquarters gathering about fifty journalists around an in-depth response to a major communication topic.
"It's high time we stopped thinking that energy and the environment are mutually exclusive," said Total Chief Executive Officer Christophe de Margerie, who opened the seminar. "Factors in the most complex equation that the world has to resolve in the coming years include the development of emerging economies, restricted access to energy resources, energy prices and pressing environmental issues. All stakeholders must take part in public discussion and work together to devise solutions."
