The eldfisk ii project (norway)

The new facilities being installed on Eldfisk will allow the production of substantial additional reserves, while also improving the field’s oil recovery factors.

Total is a partner on the Eldfisk II offshore project in Production License (PL) 018, operated by ConocoPhillips.

The oil and gas production has started in January 2015, with a capacity of 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (70 kboe/d).

The Eldfisk II project reflects Total’s commitment to revitalize the potential of Norway’s mature hydrocarbon fields, a key to lasting growth in the country’s oil and gas production.

  • Total’s interest: 39.9%
  • Partners: ConocoPhillips (35.11%), ENI (12.39%), Statoil (7.6%) and Petoro (5%)

The development program begun in 2011 taps additional reserves and improves recovery factors to optimize the performance of the Eldfisk field in the Norwegian North Sea. Development work consists of:

  • modernizing the field’s infrastructure,
  • installing new treatment units,
  • building a new platform, Eldfisk 2/7S, to drill thirty new production wells and nine additional water injectors for a capacity of 70 boe/d.

In keeping with its corporate social responsibility, Total is ensuring that the project is carried out in compliance with the most stringent safety standards in the industry.
