Labeling criteria

Total Ecosolutions products and services deliver the same performance as most other available products and services, but offer the added benefit of reducing consumption of energy, water and other resources and/or reducing environmental impact. 

 

The labeling process 

Our labeling process is based on the international ISO 14020 and 14021 standards governing environmental claims, particularly their accuracy.

This process has been set out in guidelines that comply with the above standards.

We asked an independent consultant, auditor Ernst & Young, to verify that the guidelines comply with the above-mentioned standards.

Ernst & Young reviewed the Total Ecosolutions Guidelines against the principles set out in ISO standards 14020 and 14021 and found that they were appropriate and comply with said principles. Details are contained in a document entitled "Independent Report on the Design of the Total Ecosolutions Guidelines".

Governance

We have also set up an internal governance system to:

• Select the products and services to be considered for labeling.
• Assess, on the basis of a comprehensive file, whether the product or service complies with the Total Ecosolutions criteria.
• Ensure that the labeling process is respected.
• Conduct an annual review of the Total Ecosolutions line and withdraw the label from any product or service that no longer complies with the criteria.
