New energy carriers: expanding the range of possibilities

We have commitments to various projects involving the development of alternative automotive and other fuels, and the use of new feedstocks to manufacture polymers and plastics in our Chemicals segment.

We are taking an especially close interest in processes involving hydrogen, methanol and dimethyl ether. We also are pursuing our research into other alternatives, such as marine energies, and keeping tabs on developments in the clean tech sector through our development capital business, which enables us to back emerging projects through the acquisition of minority interests.
