"Total stands out from its peers due to its commitment to a cleaner energy future," said Lauren Craft of the independent data and analysis provider Energy Intelligence in explaining why Total has been singled out for its leadership in new energy. The award, presented on October 19 in London, comes after this year’s definition of our 20-year ambition, in which we have integrated climate change into our strategy in our drive to become the responsible energy major. "This commitment has gone far beyond words; Total has made substantial investments," noted Lauren Craft. Energy Intelligence highlighted several of our key milestones, such as the creation of the Gas, Renewables & Power business and the acquisition in 2011 of a majority stake in SunPower and more recently of Saft and Lampiris.
