My name is Hamilton João, I am 22 years old, I work on the CLOV FPSO as a Production Operator.

I work every day for three weeks. A normal day for me starts at six, I have a meeting with the guys on the night shift.

After that we have a meeting with our production supervisor, for us to talk about the activities that we are going to perform during the day.

The main role of the Production Operator is to take monitor the installations and some of the parameters, to make sure that the value outside corresponds to the value which the guys in the central control room see on the display.

The hardest part of being here on board, offshore, is being far from the family for three weeks. I call my mom every single day.

I want to become an engineer, so that’s why after work, before I go to bed, I’m studying to be a petroleum engineer.

It’s quite hard working during the day, and then studying at night. But no pain no gain, when we need to achieve something we need to do what we have to do in order to get it.
