Calibrating the sea ice thickness measurements

For a period of two weeks to April 29, experts, divers and scientists worked in the field to calibrate the sea ice thickness measurements provided by the EM-Bird, developed by researchers at Germany’s Alfred Wegener Institut.
This mission is critical to the success of the measurement survey that will be conducted in April and May 2008.
