The Chemicals segment is organized into the Base Chemicals activities (petrochemicals and fertilizers) and the Specialties activities, which includes the Group's rubber processing, resins, adhesives and electroplating activities.

Chemicals operations cover major sectors:

  • Total's Base Chemicals activities encompass petrochemicals as well as fertilizers.
    Total's Petrochemicals activities include base petrochemicals (olefins and aromatics) as well as polyethylene, polypropylence and styrenics. Its products are used in a wide range of domestic and industrial applications, including packaging, construction and automobiles.
    On October 1,  2004, Total Petrochemicals was created to regroup these activities

    Fertilizers, which consist of GPN and Belgium-based Engrais Rosier. Grande Paroisse’s core competency is nitrogen chemistry.
