What are registered shares? Most Total shares are held in bearer form but they can also be registered. Holders of registered shares can be identified by the issuer. There are two alternatives:
The shares may be placed in a custodial account with the Company, which manages them directly.
The shares may be registered with the Company and managed by the bank or broker chosen by the shareholder.

Double voting rights after two consecutive years of holding the shares;
All company and shareholder information mailed to your home;
Access to your share information over the internet;
The possibility to participate in the Total Shareholders' Club with the purchase of one or more shares.

How to become a registered shareholder? BNP Paribas Securities is our Depositary Bank. To convert your shares to registered shares, complete the Registration form (pdf file) and submit it to your financial advisor.
Upon receiving your shares, BNP will issue you a registration certificate and then require you to submit:
a bank identification number or a postal address where your dividend payments can be deposited;
a completed contract for the stock exchange in order to trade your Total shares.
