TotalFinaElf has acquired Air Liquide’s 50% interest in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) marketing joint venture between the two companies.

The joint venture marketed 140,000 metric tons of butane and propane in 2000, generating revenues of around EUR 68.5 million (FRF 450 million). The majority of sales consist of bulk deliveries to industrial customers.

The business will be integrated into Totalgaz, the TotalFinaElf LPG marketing subsidiary. Totalgaz sells approximately 700,000 metric tons of LPG a year in the French market.
