TotalFinaElf has finalized an agreement to acquire 40 highway service stations in Italy from ENI. The AGIP- and IP-branded retail outlets are mainly concentrated in the northern region of the country.
TotalFinaElf operates a network of around 1,300 Fina-branded service stations in Italy, mainly in the central and northern regions, with aggregate sales of close to two million cubic meters per year. The new retail outlets, which will be Total-branded by year-end, will contribute additional motor fuel sales of almost 240,000 cubic meters per year.
TotalFinaElf also operates the Rome refinery, which has a capacity of four million metric tons per year.
The Italian competition authorities have approved the deal.
The agreement makes TotalFinaElf one of the leading players in Italy’s motor fuel market, in particular on the highway sector, where it will have 53 outlets. Its coverage of the Italian highway network will be strengthened, and it will be able to bolster customer retention, in particular through the Eurotrafic card for corporate users and the loyalty card for consumers.
TotalFinaElf is Europe’s leading refiner and marketer, with a refining capacity of more than one hundred million metric tons per year and a network of 13,300 service stations. |
