Following information appearing in press releases this morning from sources in Teheran, the TotalFinaElf Group wishes to clarify that none of its aircraft nor its personnel was involved in the helicopter accident which occured yesterday in Iran.

This accident apparently involved teams of other parties currently working on the development of the South Pars 1 project. Total South Pars, an affiliate of the TotalFinaElf Group, is in charge of the development of another project located on South Pars 2 and South Pars 3.

The Group nevertheless regrets the loss of life caused by this accident.
