In line with the principles defined in the agreement between Elf Aquitaine and Totalfina concerning their merger, the Executive Committee of Totalfina Elf will comprise the following persons:

The new Executive Committee will take up its functions when Thierry Desmarest is appointed Chairman of Elf Aquitaine.
A new organization for the chemicals segment will be implemented in March, once the Working Group completes its analysis, which will study strategic priorities in terms of growth, the conditions for integration and the future organization of the chemicals operations.
The Working Group will be chaired by Jacques Puéchal and will include François Cornélis, Jean-Pierre Seeuws and François Périer who will be appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Elf-Atochem.
Jacques Puéchal will resign effective March 31, once the new organization is put in place.
Bernard de Combret will then be appointed Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and retain his responsibilities.
Appointment at TOTALFINA ELF
Alain Madec, currently Totalfina's President of Strategy and Finance, will be appointed Advisor to the Chairman, effective the day that Thierry Desmarest becomes Chairman of Elf Aquitaine and a new Executive Committee assumes its functions. |
