In many of our host countries, oil could make a bigger contribution to economic development and improve living conditions. We make sure our operations have a positive impact on local residents, by reserving most jobs for host country nationals, providing training, transferring technology and expertise, and deploying community support initiatives.

Developing the Economic Base
Total is determined to make a useful contribution in host regions and countries. We support economic development through our purchasing, hiring and small business support policies, take part in vocational training and university programs, and lead a variety of support and dialogue initiatives with local communities.
Supporting Local Communities
