Solar Star, one of the world’s largest photovoltaic power plants in development, is located under the California sun. Developed by our solar power affiliate SunPower, it supplies electricity to approximately 255,000 homes since mid 2015.

In 2013, our SunPower affiliate started the development and construction of Solar Star, one of the largest solar power plants ever built. Owned by BHE Renewables, the project is located in Rosamond, California.

Our goal is to supply electricity to approximately 255,000 homes through 1.7 million SunPower high-efficiency panels.

The power plant is entirely connected to the electricity distribution grid since mid 2015 and began supplying electricity generated by the panels in January 2014.

SunPower provided turnkey management of the Solar Star construction site, and now operates and maintain the power plant. The project created approximately 650 jobs over a three-year period and generate millions of dollars for the local economy.
