In preparing our Environment & Society report and this website, we refer to two international reporting standards:

• The International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) and American Petroleum Institute (API) reporting guidance specific to the oil and gas industry and particularly appropriate for Total.
  
• The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the most widely used guidance for non-financial reporting.

Below and on the corresponding links, we summarize the economic, environmental, and social indicators recommended by the GRI and the IPIECA/API guidance indicators.

We indicate whether each indicator is covered by our reporting process and on what pages the corresponding information can be found. For indicators that we report only partially, the pages indicated will provide readers with information about our general policy and, depending on the case, either figures that are less detailed than those required by guidance or examples of best practices.
