Scientists warn that human activities, such as manufacturing, transportation and urban pollution, are causing the global warming observed over the past few decades, linked to a higher concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Since 2001, Total has undertaken to manage our greenhouse gas emissions. Meeting this commitment entails enhancing energy efficiency, reducing flaring, expanding the use of new and alternative energies and contributing to R&D programs, such as those focusing on carbon capture and sequestration.
