For several years, Petrochemicals has been implementing a safety awareness program called Safety in Action with regular Highlights, when teams get together to analyze and discuss a particular topic. In 2006, the Eighth Highlight focused on machinery and pedestrian travel paths.
Among the support materials provided for these discussion sessions was a video filmed on a site in China, which illustrated a variety of typical accident situations and encouraged development of preventive measures. These included a detailed traffic map, the physical separation of pedestrian paths and vehicle maneuvering areas, and the use of appropriate machinery.
