In preparing our Environment & Society report, we refer to two international reporting standards: - The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)1, the most widely used guidance for non-financial reporting. - The International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA)2 and American Petroleum Institute (API)3 reporting guidance, which consists of a set of dedicated indicators for the oil and gas industry and is therefore particularly appropriate for Total.
Below and on the corresponding links, we summarize the economic, environmental, and social indicators recommended by the GRI and the IPIECA/API guidance indicators.
We indicate whether each indicator is covered by our reporting process and on what pages the corresponding information can be found.
For indicators that we report only partially, the pages indicated will provide readers with information about our general policy and, depending on the case, either figures that are less detailed than those required by guidance or examples of best practices.
