Primary energy consumption* (million GJ/year)
(2007 total: 628.5 million GJ)

* Primary energy includes exported electricity, but excludes flaring, venting and gas from hydrogen and ammonia production.

SO2 emissions (thousands of metric tons per year)
(2007 total: 149.7 metric ktons)

Refining: 13.4% reduction in 2007 toward the 2010 target of a 20% reduction.

NOx emissions (thousands of metric tons of NO2 equivalent/year)
(2007 total: 89 metric ktons)

The Upstream (E&P) increase is mainly due to higher activity.

VOC emissions (thousands of metric tons per year)
(2007 total: 156 metric ktons)

E&P: Increase due to more reliable reporting that systematically factors in emissions related to loading and water treatment, with  subsequent restatement of the 2005 and 2006 figures, and to gas venting during flaring incidents (13,500 metrictons in Block 3 in Angola).
